| Description | GRINS NETWORK is an India-based civil society organization working at the intersection of sustainable livelihoods, community development and market-linked ecological agriculture. We believe that long-term social and environmental outcomes are best achieved when small producers are connected to viable markets through transparent, locally rooted and economically sustainable value chains. Since 2018, our work within the organic and clean food ecosystem has focused on exploring how growing consumer demand for natural, chemical-free and responsibly produced food can contribute to improved livelihoods for small and marginal farmers. One of our most significant engagements has been in the Sundarban Delta of eastern India, where we supported the early development of a farm-to-fork model centred on smallholder producers operating within a fragile mangrove ecosystem of global ecological importance. Working alongside local institutions, farmer collectives, technology partners and market stakeholders, we helped strengthen traceable supply chains, producer-market linkages and systems that build consumer trust in the origin and quality of food. Our work has also explored innovations in source authentication, transparent food value chains and direct producer-consumer engagement. Learnings from these initiatives have contributed to broader conversations around sustainable food systems, rural enterprise development and the role of ecological agriculture in strengthening community resilience. As a member of the global organic movement, GRINS remains committed to advancing approaches that combine environmental stewardship, farmer wellbeing and market viability, while encouraging greater awareness and access to clean, responsibly produced food. |
