Description
The background of this group was from former name of “environment conservation and alternative agriculture Tubthai”. It was formed since 2000, there were 30 families, 4 villages as the membership. The main activities were farmed rice for export purpose under brand “Surin Ricefund Cooperatives” which certified by NOP, EU, Bio-Suisse and ACT standards. It made farmers learn knowhow and well understand the organic inspection and certification system also the internal control system (ICS). The result was limited only rice production and not cover for all produces in the area; new participant need to spend much money to get the limited quota. In order to develop organic for other crops and expand this project to all farmers, “Tubthai Organic Agriculture Cooperatives, PGS Groups” was re-formed since 2014
