Description
This project is a pilot initiative of Demeter e.V. (Germany), launched in 2018, which works with a peer-to-peer certification model (not strictly a PGS-model). Farmers work together in groups of 3-5 farms, meeting annually on all farms in the group for moderated, in-depth farm development talks. Development goals are set as a group for each individual farm and reviewed by the group annually. Farm development talks are rigorous, lasting around 3 hours, and aim to delve deeply into the challenges and potential of each farm organism. The farms still receives an annual inspection for their compliance with the EU-organic standard.
