Hansalim PGS

Description

Hansalim-PGS certification is unique production and quality management system operated by Hansalim. Hansalim is a compound of two Korean words, Han and Salim, which means to save all the living things. In 2014, in recognition of its contribution to expanding organic production through cooperation between producers and consumers, Hansalim was awarded the Gold Prize of the One Wolrd Award organized by IFOAM International. On December 4th 1986, Hansalim started from small rice store in Seoul City which has the longest history of consumer’s cooperative in Korea with most number of members. Based on the view of Life, Hansalim produces and supplies healthy food and daily items to both people and nature. Since 1986, long before the government implemented the certification system of Environmentally-Friendly agricultural products in 2001, Hansalim has been doing eco-friendly farming without the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The goal of Hansalim is to secure a food base and produce healthy food through sustainable eco-friendly agriculture. As of the end of 2021, there are 770,000 consumer union members and 2,200 producer members of Hansalim.
